Sonia Haddad’s ‘Exam’ to compete in Finland

Iran’s short ‘Exam’ has been set to compete at the 2020 Tampere Film Festival in Finland.

The Iranian Youth Cinema Society reported on Wednesday that ‘Exam’, directed by Sonia Haddad, will represent Iran at the festival’s International Competition section.

“A teenage girl involves in the process of delivering a pack of cocaine to its client, and she got stuck in a weird cycle of occurrences,” a synopsis for the film reads.

‘Exam’ has attended several international festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada and the Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden.

It has also managed to win the Golden Star at the 3rd El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt.

The film also brought Sadaf Asgari the Special Jury Award for Acting at the 35th Sundance Film Festival in the US.

The upcoming edition of the Tampere Film Festival will take place on March 4-8, 2020.
